Introducing our Head Coach for 2023 / 2024 Season : Greg Cameron
I am a Life Member and past President of Whyalla Little Athletics. I have coached for over 30 years at various levels in athletics (junior and senior), junior aussie rules, athletes with an Intellectual Disability (Special Olympics competitors) and currently have my own business Speed Sport and Fitness, where I work with athletes and individuals to improve their techniques and performance in their sport.
I have coached at two World Games for Special Olympics, once as an Apprentice Australian Coach (1995) the other as the Head Coach for the Australian Athletics Team (1999). The Special Olympics World Games, has 7,000 athletes from 147 Countries.
I have a long association with sport having played at or competed in, Masters Games Athletics, Tennis, Aussie Rules, Basketball, Judo, Rugby League and Touch Football over my sporting career. I have represented the State on a number of occasions in Rugby League back in the early to mid 80’s.
I specifically coach sprints and relays, jumps (except Pole Vault), discus and shot put. I am a qualified Athletics Australia Level 3 Advanced Coach, TAFE Certified, Certificate 3 Fitness Instructor, and an Athletics Australia School Sports Program Coach.
