At Mt Barker District Athletics, we believe in Community, supporting and encouraging each other and being active. We offer a range of options for Athletes from Tiny Tots to Recreational Athletes.
We are not a spectator sport, Athletics requires everyone to be actively involved from Chaperone to BBQ to Starters. Please don’t step back, step up and show the athletes that you are truly interested in what they are doing.
Tiny Tots (3 & 4 yrs) is a play based program designed to develop motor skills, build confidence and develop basic social skills. Parent involvement is paramount, we encourage Mum’s, Dad’s, Grandparents or care-givers to be actively involved in their children’s development.
Our Little Athletics program is for U6 – U17 (5 to 16 yrs) it is about getting out and having fun with your friends. We have a weekly program that incorporates Track and Field events. As the season progresses we highlight and reward personal best achievements.
Dual Athletics: U13 – U17 (12 to 16 yrs) this is an option if your little Athlete is wanting to experience a higher level of competition, we offer discounts for dual members of Mt Barker District Athletics
Senior Athletics: U13+ (12 to 99 yrs) for athletes that love to compete. This is the where athletes can stretch themselves to be the best they can, we are developing coaching opportunities for athletes to refine their skills to reach higher than they ever thought.
Recreational Athletics “RecAths” (18 to 99 yrs) this is a fun and open community for those who don’t want to compete on the track each week, but enjoy getting out and having a run, walk, throw or jump. We offer some great discounts for team entry’s into trail runs, half marathons and other runs and walks.
