Uniform

Mt Barker LAC requires ALL registered athletes to wear full uniform when attending all state, interclub or association events. Disqualification can occur at SA Athletics Stadium (Previously known as SANTOS)  meets when the correct uniform isn’t worn. Club uniforms, (shirts, singlets and shorts), are available from Worklocker in the Mt Barker Homemaker Centre (6 Dutton Rd, Mount Barker SA 5251  Phone: 8398 3983). Once an athlete has registered for the season, they will be provided with three cloth patches for their uniform. One will be their athlete registration number, the other their age group patch, and the last is a Coles sponsorship badge. The athlete number needs to be sewn on the centre front of the shirt, the age group patch onto the upper left side, and the Coles patch onto the right. If you have any questions, please ask a committee member.

Friday night club meets – Athletes can wear either a Mt Barker LAC shirt from Worklocker, or the club training shirt supplied in the athlete registration pack. On the bottom, options are plain black shorts or leggings, or Mt Barker LAC embroidered shorts. All registered athletes MUST wear the full uniform with all of the appropriate badges attached at all SA Athletics Stadium meetings. The training shirts supplied upon registration can be worn during home meets, training sessions, and any other events that your child wishes to represent Mount Barker LAC in (Christmas pageant, parkrun events etc). Training shirts are NOT to be worn at any SALAA-based events.

Come and Try Athletes may wear a blue or black T-Shirt, and any athletes waiting on a polo shirt from Work Locker may wear a Blue or Black T-Shirt in the interim (please temporarily attach bib and age group number).

Appropriate footwear is also compulsory, for safety reasons, athletes may not be able to participate if they are not in the correct footwear. Safe footwear includes either velcro or lace-up shoes that enclose the toes.

For Cross Country events, athletes may wear black leggings in lieu of their approved Centre shorts colour and must conform to Rule 143.3.

For Race Walking events, only approved uniform shorts may be worn and they must be above the knee.

Athletes requiring alternative uniform items for medical or cultural reasons may request an exemption.

Spikes are ONLY permitted for U11 and up (subject to event rules).

As we follow a Sun Smart policy, athletes will also be encouraged to wear a hat when not competing, as well as wear 30+ sunscreen.
