Cross Country

Cross Country is a fantastic way to keep fit over the winter. Perfect to increase you and your child to keep fit and active over winter.
Cross Country also assists in developing endurance for winter sports such as football, soccer, basketball, netball, school cross country. and a great way to build fitness and strength for the summer season starting in Term 4.

WHO CAN RUN:

Any one who wants to, we offer a number of options this year.
Little Athletes Athletes that were registered for the 2018/19 season are eligible to participate in age group events at any center across South Australia.

All registered Little Athletes that have been previously registered but were not registered last year (2018/19 Season) are able to join as a Winter Member ($40.00) HERE
If your athlete has never been registered with a Little Athletics Center, we off a free Come And Try, see below.

This year we also offer a larger more challenging event, our Mt Barker 5,5Km Cross Country. This event takes you around the lake 3 times with a elevation gain from bottom to top of 90m and a Max elevation (total climb) of 345m
This event is open to anyone who is up for a challenge and is aged 13yrs and up.

Feel free to invite your friends from school to join if they enjoy cross-country running.

COME & TRY:
Come and try athletes are able to participate in their age group event, the times will be recorded and a “Participation Certificate” will be awarded. A ‘Come and Try’ participation will not be eligible for an event placement award (1st, 2nd or 3rd Place) or count towards an athlete’s qualification for State Cross Country Championships.

Athletes can attend one Come & Try session during the winter season, please PRE-REGISTER HERE.

Little Athlete Registration:
Athletes who wish to register for the Winter season and be eligible to participate in the 2019 cross country season can do so HERE. Athletes that register for a winter membership are automatically entered into the winter Cross Country program, all you need to do is attend and pay your entry fee at the start line

Recreational Athletics Registration:
Mt Barker offers a recreational athlete membership HERE (you will need to create an additional As a member of Mt Barker District Athletics, we offer a discounted entry fee to the Mt Barker 5.5Km Cross Country event.

Mt Barker 5.5Km Cross Country Registrations:
This event does not require membership, registrations must be completed on line and the entry fee paid REGISTRATION
Please note that this event is an additional event and is not included as part of membership

COST:
Little Athletics and Rec Aths events
$2.00 entrance fee payable at the start line.

Main event Mt Barker 5,5Km Cross Country
$15.50 payable on line during registration

DUTY:

Parents are needed to help with safety on the course and the organisation of the races.
